Description by Donald Structure

Hocker Farm, a stone cottage in Longnor, Buxton is inside The Peak District Nationwide Park. Given it’s Nationwide Park location, any improvement needed to be in-retaining with the native context, which totally shaped the exterior look of the extension.

The temporary was a brand new extension to the prevailing cottage to accommodate a lot of rooms. Constrained in measurement by the unique storage footprint, the problem was creating the additional rooms inside a comparatively small quantity of area. A ‘area-saving’ stair and an open plan strategy to grasp en-suite, partially, enabled the temporary to be met.

The interior areas, free from planning constraints, have been designed to be mild, clear and modern and to distinction from the ‘cosy’ areas of the unique cottage. A glass-to-glass ridge rooflight serves to flood mild to en-suite, stair and corridor beneath.
