It’s a personal home in Hamilton and it communicates that a new and sustainable type may be invented whereas highlighting and celebrating the neighbourhood’s historic legacy. The home celebrates and reminds us of the social significance of the entrance porch. It’s materials palette is selected to be intentionally commensurate with established patterns. The type of the carport and absence of an enclosed storage will increase the probability of spontaneous contact between neighbours within the few seconds between automotive and entrance door and the home is respectful to the context from inside as properly. Views from the home’s horizontally oriented home windows supply spectacular panoramic views of neighbourhood homes church buildings and faculties that aren’t generally skilled by residents. The Niagara escarpment is seen to the north, west and south. It promotes a brand new perspective. Open dwelling areas promotes interplay between the resident household, and provides a “venue” for group exercise.
