Description by Ensemble Structure

The Cumberland Townhouse is situated on a park block within the neighborhood of Fort Greene in Brooklyn, NY. The home was in a dilapidated state when the proprietor’s bought the constructing; the rear wall was falling down and water had been getting into the constructing for a number of years.

The home was utterly reworked with a brand new rear wall and a two-story addition on the rear of the home. The addition is open to the lounge above and is related via inside metal and glass home windows that mimic the 2-story, exterior home windows. The doorways on the backyard open utterly to create a seamless connection between the kitchen / eating degree and the backyard. Vines are planted in recessed planters alongside the two story social gathering partitions within the eating room–the room was designed with the thought of being an indoor-outside area the place the backyard melds with the inside areas. The vines will cowl the double-story get together partitions and can add an natural high quality to all the areas that the eating room connects. The highest of the addition is a personal main bedroom balcony.
